Today, we worked on completing our initial application with Children's Hope International. The form was very extensive. It covered everything from medical background to financial stability. It this is the just the initial application, I wonder what the other paperwork will look like! Everyone says that the paperwork for an application is how adoptive parents feel "labor" pains. LOL!
In addition to the application, we had to take two seperate photos of ourselves (as a couple), one of our house (outside), and three of different rooms in our house (inside). I guess that they want to see that we are not living in squalor! Our house is a log house in the country. There is lots of land all around...a great place for kids.
I am anxious to get this initial paperwork sent in so that we can get started on the real stuff. I'll keep you all posted!

Ok, this is none of my business and I won't be insulted if you delete this post. However, there are thousands of children around the US who are waiting for adoptive parents.
These kids are in foster care or shelters. They need permenent homes. Plus, your state will cover the cost of the adoption.
Think about. Please.
I completely understand your comment. It is true that there are children in the US waiting to be adopted. However, there are issues related to many domestic adoptions such as open adoptions, adoptions falling through, and increased difficulty in getting an infant. It was just a personal choice for us.
Thank you for your comment. I would never delete someone's opinion if it is an honest and sincere opinion.
